I am so excited to share with you my new column for Riviera Magazine featuring one of Laguna's finest fashion icons, Angela Tesselaar. Closet Confidential, takes you inside the homes and closets of Orange County's Tastemakers so you can discover their unique style. A dream closet for sure and worth showing off so here's a closer look at Angela's story and images by Cameron Gardnerthat didn't make the magazine.
Laguna’s Angela Tesselaar is not only an interior designer, but also a product and furniture designer, an accomplished iPhone photographer and a luxury lifestyles expert. Harkening to her Dutch background, Tesselaar’s mantra is “understated elegance” because she believes polished, timeless style comes from “character, quality and sophistication.” One designer line never covers the basics, so says Tesselaar, so she likes to mix it up with pieces from Celine, The Row, Golden Goose, J. Crew, Massimo Alba, Brunello and Lanvin along with “a sprinkle of Oscar and a splash of Alaia.” On a typical work day, she wears J. Brand denim jeans, “a great crispy button up,” a cashmere sweater or blazer and a “casual driver” shoe or “dressy flat by Tod, Lanvin, Manolo Blahnik, Pierre Hardy or Jimmy Choo. What does she put on her arm? While she usually sports bags by Hermès, Celine or Valextra, she covets her Louis Vuitton Sac Plat monogram tote, which she takes to work every day. On her wrist, she wears her first big purchase: a Cartier Roadster. What about hair? “I style my hair simply in a low ponytail or bun so I’m ready to rock.” While Tesselaar loves shopping at South Coast Plaza, she says almost every favorite piece in her wardrobe was purchased at Newport’s A’Maree’s because the boutique has “the BEST location, selection and service.”
